Olomouc, Czech Republic

Petr Bokuvka has uploaded fascinating black and white pictures of Olomouc, a place I only associated with Napoleonic wars. I have a weakness for these kinds of settings. Regarding a sign in one of the photos, Petr explains:

“Domovina” basically means “homeland” or region you come from. In this case it is just a name of a dead-end street.

In Russian, domovina means “coffin.” Makes sense as the body’s ultimate home.
