[Quasi-musical trivia]

From time to time, I come back to this old post by A.C. Douglas on the Dresden Tannhäuser overture. I have discovered since that Albert Coates, some time in the 1920s, took (almost) exactly the 12 minutes that, as A.C. Douglas reminds us, Wagner had taken to perform the piece.

On the contrary, Celibidache needed over 16 minutes.
