Spengler in the land of dawn

Whoever writes in The Asia Times under the pen name of Spengler must be one of the most intriguing Anglophone columnists. Some of his theological views, if I may call them so, remind me of Lev Shestov, although the Russian philosopher would not have resorted to the columnist’s simplifications and generalizations, nor is Shestov a probable source of Spengler’s ideas: the columnist credits Franz Rosenzweig as the thinker behind his views.
