Summer’s tales

The dacha season is over. On Saturday, we took our last bicycle ride “in the country” — my five-year-old daughter, my wife, and I. My daughter was telling a long, complicated story of her own invention. “I’ve composed a new fairy tale. It’s called ‘The Magic Computer’. It’s a Russian folk tale (you know).” As it turned out, part of the action in the new fairy tale took place on a computer screen — in twice virtual reality, so to say.

“…his enemy’s daughter,” I heard. “His enemy was very bad, even worse than Buddy.” That night, my daughter’s yardstick for villainy was Buddy from The Incredibles — a very unpleasant character indeed.
