Yes, Secretary Clinton deserves the world’s top job: she has sacrificed her entire life to the quest for this prize. It must have hurt a lot to deny oneself some of the simple normalcies commoners take for granted.
Donald Trump, in contrast, has lived to the full: wealth, privilege, success, defeat and newly found success, beautiful wives, children and grandchildren – and, finally, a hurricane of a run, deliriously trashing all expectations. Now he has almost accomplished his unexpected mission of delectable destruction. But it wouldn’t be fair to give him the final cup.
A sacrifice theory of the presidency, as it were.
