One more year

It’s been a bad year for all decent Russians. As the country continues its long descent into existential misery, the ugliness of its political regime contrasts remarkably with the charms of the winter season. Unusually for this millennium, December has been agreeably snowy and frosty, following an early onset of winter cold in late November.

Il tempo è un galantuomo: time will fix everything and give everyone their due. Countless tyrants have sought immortality, so far without success. But history will not look kindly on those weak-willed men and women who rely on the action of time as a pretext for taking no action, all the way, at every turn. This said, patience remains a cardinal virtue.
