Weather bane

We’ve had another round of frosty weather for over a week now, and it’s getting tiresome. You have to eat and sleep more when you’re exposed to low temperatures, and since there are few parking garages in the center of Moscow, having to warm up the car reduces the difference in exposure between those who drive and those who use public transportation. And so, since everybody’s exposed and few sleep enough or feast on goose fat every day, pretty much everybody is growing anemic.

This is supposed to be the last frigid wave this winter — tradition dictates that it hit around the feast of the Meeting of the Lord (Feb. 15). Then, we’ll be in for March — windy, chilly, dirty, drippy — the cruelest (April should sue for defamation), “Marchy March — put on seven pairs of pants.”
