Fresh Bilge is closer to my idea of The Blog than most other weblogs. It does not mean I enjoy it as much as LanguageHat or Cinderella Bloggerfeller (used to; CB’s on hiatus again), but I don’t enjoy Vasily Rozanov’s writings as much as, say, Chekhov’s, yet he was the great Russian protoblogger. The same for Seablogger, without the proto-, — his approximates my ideal blog better than others’. Check out all the local links on his blog, too.
