Opinions at the Moscow Times

The opinion page of the Friday, 13 Feb. issue: on the left, a brief editorial, The President’s Constitutional Schizophrenia. It argues quite convincingly why Putin should not tamper with the Constitution, but who is it for? That Putin should serve out his term and leave is obvious to most of the paper’s readers; those who disagree tend to read other publications. What’s the point of thus editorializing?

On the right, there is another charming column by Michele Berdy.

And the centerpiece is… (momentous pause) a reprint from the Wall Street Journal, A Chestnut Revolution: a classical example of neoconservative propaganda.

Before I had time to expound on what the WSJ pretends not to understand about Ukraine, bad news came from the southwest of Moscow.
