A poll shows about a third of Ukrainians would like to emigrate. 7.7% would prefer to move to Russia, 7.4% to Germany, 4% to the US and Canada. In addition, of those respondents who are under 30 and have a college degree, 66% would like to leave the country.
Sounds like Russia a few years ago, only that there was no Russia on the list, obviously. One is tempted to think Ukraine is but Russia without the oil and gas and metals. It’s wrong, of course, although not so terribly for Eastern Ukraine.
