Leicester City, Trump, Brexit, England losing to Iceland, and now, Erdoğan apologizing or at least writing something as close to an apology as the man can manage without killing himself.

Russia’s loss to Wales, although a face in the mud experience, was hardly the first of its kind and does not belong on this catalogue of wonders. Russia pioneered losing to Iceland as early as in 1998, with Yuri Kovtun’s spectacular own goal two minutes from time.
